Strategic Initiatives

We are continually working to improve hazardous materials management.  See the concertina below for descriptions of our current improvement projects.

This project will implement an administrative system to improve our control over all activities that:

• introduce hazardous materials, equipment and associated infrastructure into Curtin

• remove hazardous materials, equipment and associated infrastructure from Curtin

This project will identify the custodian responsible for the hazardous materials, equipment and associated infrastructure during its time at Curtin, and train the custodian to carry out their responsibilities with confidence.

This project will identify the Controlled Environment facilities at Curtin that keep our assets and hazards at specific temperatures, pressures, humidity levels, air compositions and security levels.

This project will identify the custodian responsible for monitoring and maintaining each Controlled Environment to preserve the assets and hazards protected within, and train the custodian to carry out their responsibilities with confidence.

This project will identify fridges/freezers that contain fire risk chemicals, and ensure that the fridges/freezers can safely contain those chemicals to reduce Curtin’s fire risk.
